2000

Colombia

Supervision of the construction of civil works and of the assembly of electromechanical equipment, works for driving the influent of the plant, pumping station, treatment and odor control building. The San Fernando Plant occupies two lots (North and South) with a total area of 140,000 m2. It treats 1.8 m3 per second of residential, commercial and industrial wastewater, and is the first major step in the Medellín River sanitation process.

Structural Engineering

Review of detailed designs, and construction inspection. It is the largest tunnel in Colombia (9.7 km). Starting from the municipality of Cañas Gordas (Department of Antioquia) for a length of approximately 18.3 km, consisting of 973 m of bridges, 4.97 km of open-air roads and 12.3 km of tunnels, of which 9.75 km corresponds to the Toyo Tunnel.

Dominican Republic

Hydrology, hydraulics and sediments

The proposed dam is of the breakwater type with an upstream concrete wall (CFRD) 70 m high and with a storage capacity with a volume of 250 Mm3. The useful volume of the reservoir is 228 Mm3. The curtain of the projected dam has a length of 1,211 m, at an elevation of 188 meters above sea level

Geology, Geotechnics and Earthquake Engineering

It consists of exploiting the flow of the Sogamoso River through the construction of a dam. Based on the studies, an installed capacity of 820 MW was established, producing an average annual energy of 5056 GWh. The concrete faced gravel dam 190 m high, average flow of the Sogamoso river 474.6 m3/s, reservoir area 6,960 ha, total volume 4,800 Mm3. Construction period 5 years.

Architecture and urban development

Construction supervision on the highway, between Metroplús Industrial Station and the Pilot Public Library. Regional Avenue between the Industrial Metro Station and the Horacio Toro bridge. Basic components: Bury a surface road by 393 m, increasing the number of lanes, leaving a maximum width between screens of 30 m, construction of access ramps and connection with existing roads. Construction of an Urban Park on the buried road.
